How to reserve the MIT Stata Center

To reserve the space, one must be MIT staff or a student organization.

  1. About 6 months before the event, make a request for the classrooms.
  2. As soon as one gets the classroom confirmation (it may be a a few months later), go to the Information Center and get an event registration form. This form is tedious, as it is physical and requires a number of parties to sign it off in a certain order. As BCB is low-budget, do not fill in any information for catering (they are fine with us ordering pizza, etc. without providing the details beforehand).
  3. At this point, it should be safe to start promoting the event. It may be wise to talk with CAC in person about this detail, especially as the registration isn't complete.
  4. Contact the Campus Activities Complex and request the "Student Street", providing the event information. They will send a form to fill out. Request a bunch of tables and chairs outside all the classrooms (20 tables, 40 chairs) This step may take a while to process, as CAC is very busy.
  5. Once they get back with a confirmation document, you should be set!
