We have tentatively, gustatorially, and dogmatically reserved the cafeteria and five adjoining classrooms on the lower level for Sat. May 17 and Sun. May 18.

Sessions will be in the classrooms. The cafeteria will host a common space where folks can hang out, network, work on group projects, eat, etc.

The school has stairs, but no elevators. People are willing to help folks who need assistance with stairs so they can get down to the lower level and into the cafeteria. The classrooms are on the same level. The cafeteria has a short flight of stairs.

Getting There

Matignon High School is located in North Cambridge near where Arlington, Somerville, and Cambridge meet. Believe it or not, there is a small, blue sign for the high school on a pole in the middle of Massachusetts Avenue pointing up Churchill Avenue. Jack's Gas is on the corner of Churchill and Mass Ave. The intersection is near a Midas.

From Rte. 93:

Northbound

1. Take the Mystic Valley Parkway exit. Off of the exit, stay to your left and continue on Rte. 16. You will pass Wild Oats/Whole Foods and UHaul on your left and pass under an MBTA commuter rail line.
2. After the UHaul, you will go through a rotary. Go straight.
3. Dilboy Field is on the right. Continue straight through lights.
4. Go straight through another rotary.
5. Go through another set of lights.
6. At the next set of lights, turn left onto Massachusetts Avenue (often shortened to Mass Ave).
7. At the next set of lights, turn left onto Churchill Avenue.
8. The Matignon Campus will be directly in front of you.

Southbound

1. Take exit 31: 16/Revere.
2. Move to the far right to prepare for a right turn at the stop light.
3. Turn right.
4. Go straight through the next lights. You'll be on Harvard Street in Medford, which is a construction zone.
5. Go through a few lights and under an Amtrak/MBTA commuter rail line until you get to the Powder House rotary.
6. Take the third right off the rotary, which should put you on Broadway. A large, white funeral home is on one corner of Broadway. Shops and restaurants are on the other. If you find yourself driving past Tufts University on the right, you're one block north of where you should be. Turn left to go down to Broadway. Turn right on Broadway.
7. Drive for about a mile until you get to Teele Square, which is really a triangle. You'll see a variety of restaurants, like Soleil on the right, and Fire Station 6 on the left. Turn left on Clarendon Avenue just past the fire station.
8. Take Clarendon down to Massachusetts Avenue. Turn right.
9. The next stop light on Mass Ave should be Churchill Avenue. Look for a blue Matignon High School sign on a light pole in the middle of Mass Ave. Turn right on Churchill Ave. Matignon is up the street.

• If you miss the left turn on Clarendon Avenue, don't panic. Follow Broadway to Rte. 16. You'll see Clarendon Hill apartments, Foodmaster, and a cemetery at the intersection with Rte. 16. Turn left. After a blinking light by the cemetery, you'll come to the intersection with Mass Ave. Turn left at the light. The next stop light is Churchill Avenue. Look for a blue Matignon High School sign on a light pole in the middle of Mass Ave. Turn left. Matignon is ahead.

From Route 2 East

• Follow to the end of the highway (the Alewife MBTA station is ahead on the right side of highway) and bear left at the traffic lights onto Route 16 East (Alewife Brook Parkway) to Massachusetts Avenue.
• At the next set of traffic lights, turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue/2a.
• At the next set of lights, turn left onto Churchill Avenue.
• The Matignon Campus will be directly in front of you.

Public Transit / MBTA

• The high school is about a half a mile from the Clarendon Hill bus stop, where several bus routes, like the 88 and 89, stop: map.
• The 77 bus stops at Churchill Avenue when heading west and near Churchill Avenue when heading east. There is a sheltered stop for the 77 on the westbound side of Mass Ave at Churchill Street. The 77 runs along Mass Ave between Harvard Square and Arlington.
• From the Western Suburbs of Boston, take the Fitchburg commuter rail line to Porter Square, Cambridge, board the #77 Bus going west on Mass Ave to Arlington, get off at Churchill Avenue.
• From Northern Suburbs of Boston, Lowell, Haverhill, and Rockport/Newburyport lines, take commuter rail to North Station, switch to Orange Line to Sullivan Station, take bus #89 to Bus Stop @ Clarendon Hill, Somerville.
